Ahem..... Shoes are not that important. New Yorkers do not walk more then ten short blocks or three long blocks unless there is a blackout. Step out from the curb, hold up your right or left arm and in a few seconds a TAXI will stop. Get in. Seventy blocks will cost about 15.00 including the one buck for every five tip divided by three (K, Dag and Kick) that FIVE bucks.

Relax. Have a wonderful time.

that's 6 bucks. Way cheaper than here in Boston. i think. The idea was to walk intentionally. Maybe not such an option for tomorrow.

Tip the cab driver 15 cents. Then tell me what his reaction was. I've heard stories about those NYC cabbies.

How about no money and I tell him, "Here's a tip: Never put your eggs in one basket". Then run like hell.

Unless, of course, you're wearing the red shoes.

Laughing........ Being the sensible people we are, we wanted to be sure we appreciated each other's choice of sensible shoes. All went well with the walking......and remember, Frank, my shoes were only semi-sensible. I didn't want to ruin my reputation.

The red ones look good to me little k. Very nice. They are my choice.

And you may not be able to run fast enough if you don't tip the cabby. They've been know to start up while you're still getting out of the cab without a tip.

Cabs in NYC are waaay cheaper than in Boston, K. That's why everyone takes 'em. And they're all over the place. Twice as many cabs than private cars in Manhattan.

I was thinking we'd call you before we got there. How much in advance do you want us to call you?

Ummm...I can be at 7A within about 45 minutes. So why don't you call me when you are about a half hour outside Manhattan. How's that sound?

Ok, so before stamford? Sound about the right spot to call from? I'll check a map and keep an eye on traffic.
