The Tranna contingent won't be able to hit the Museum Mile Fest as we'll be on our way back outta town, but we're going to try to hit

"Masterworks of Six Centuries"

Quote:
A six-gallery "art walk" is in full stride on the Upper East Side, covering some 600 years of endeavor from exquisite medieval "gold-ground" paintings to rambunctious 20th-century Conceptual photographs. In "Masterworks of Six Centuries" each participating gallery explores a theme, so that at the end of the three-block stroll you may have earned a pocket briefing in art history and a sense of time well spent.

Quote:
Masterworks of Six Centuries continues through June 15 at these Manhattan galleries:

DAVID TUNICK 19 East 66th Street, (212) 570-0090

DICKINSON ROUNDELL 19 East 66th Street, (212) 772-8083

DIDIER AARON 32 East 67th Street, (212) 988-5248

LAWRENCE STEIGRAD FINE ARTS 23 East 69th Street, (212) 517-3643

RICHARD L. FEIGEN & COMPANY 34 East 69th Street, (212) 628-0700

ZWIRNER & WIRTH 32 East 69th Street, (212) 517-8677 (through June 23)

EhBeth--

Do you have a Friday-Monday itinerary?

I'm pale and languid with barely enough energy to nag.

Friday

Staten Island Ferry oot and back (our goal is to be on the Ferry going oot by 8:00 a.m. at the latest)

Museum of the Native American (if farmerman's with us, this will be comparatively brief visit - to allow us to walk him to the Fountain Pen Hospital)

connect with Walter (Penn Station - noonish)

connect with Frank (time and place a semi-mystery)

walk/wander/dawdle through parks and side streets to Georgio's Country Grill to await the arrival of mac11

connect with JoeNation and perhaps a mystery guest

head toward Frank's recommended Chinese resto - call Kicky to let him know of our destination

Chinese resto - collapse or further independent activity

Wow! Noddy asks for an itinerary and gets a rigorous schedule of events. Ehbeth does allow some minimal "independent activity" and "free time". I know this is none of my business, but it was unintentionally funny. Smile

EhBeth is a woman who can herd cats with one arm and snakes with the other.

Why waste vacation time dithering when you can plan in advance?

New York is a wicked, sinful city, Walter.
I will arrange a Purification Ritual for you in Boston.
Till then, be brave.

Thanks a lot, George. Unfortunatelz too late: I'm already here - though quite safe under the "roof" of the Lutheran church.

(With two others, I took one of those 'illegal' taxis: it certainlz was more comfortable, a really nice car and well educated and behaving driver, but he took just just little less than the official rate .... from everzone, I suppose.)

Btw: the letters on the keyboard here are hardly to recognise, which makes it even worse for me, normally using a German keyboard
