The chirping chickens make a nice segue into my wildlife sighting story. On my lunch hour today, I went down to the Hudson River Park in Greenwich Village. As I walked past the grassy area of the Christopher Street pier, I saw two large Canada geese, just standing there in the middle of all the sunbathers. The tourists were snapping photographs, while the New Yorkers were trying to act blase, as if geese are a regular part of everyday life in Manhattan.

Bree--

Those geese were an advance team.

By this time next year the park will be extra green with goose droppings and the sunbathers will be elsewhere.

I'll take the 1/4 chicken (ribs, in New York???) if I get to specify wings. Plus the Greek salad. And some napkins.

Too bad that ethereal japanese place is gone on, what, 71st. Kind of a cloud room of delicous goodness. And remember, I'm not spiritual, she barks.

I wanna de-construct the salsa/sauce at the Chirping Chicken.

Drove Eugenie a bit crazy the last time we were there ... I think there's a bit of ... do you taste any ... I'm not sure of the back taste ...

It's good.

~~~~~~
There are other locations now. The original's on Lexington. The owners won some kind of big state lottery, but keep the joint open because they enjoy it.
Yep, I agree bethie. We'll have fun for less than that elsewhere.
Should we make a reservation somewhere?
I've just sent a note to Frankie.
There might be something at Birdland that might be tempting.
As this post was in composition, an innocent as all get out Greenwich Connecticut Justice of the Peace threw me over the cliff edge.
I shall keep you posted re the landing as it occurs.
When Stephen Colbert was still with Jon Stewart's show, in a segment entitled "This Week In God", Colbert moved onto the screen, walking slowly sideways, swinging one of those little weird catholic smoke things as in your animated gif. He briefly looked back from where he'd come, smiled at the camera, and said, "You really don't want to go in there just yet."
