Best wishes to the bride and congratulations to the groom.
Which one is in charge of the masking tape? The inventory? The marking pen?
ossobuco wrote:Blatham, hah, just a few hours ago, I didn't post on the new university architecture because there weren't photos with the article. Besides, I'm always bathing a2k with relatively unpopular architecture threads. And, just yesterday, Dys was telling Diane and I about the Japanese Garden in Portland, how great it is, and I said that I'd look it up, there must be a lot of photos online.
I once was hired as a consultant on garden design for the area around a tea house to be brought to the US, for a mentor of mine who was doing the tea house retrofit. Well, I was hired by the mentor but not the guy paying for the teahouse transport et al, who had his own favorite landarch. So it goes. Anyway, I look forward to seeing more photos of that Portland garden - if I find some good ones, I'll start a thread.
37 inches is about the same amount of rain that drizzled over my most recent old home town. We still got plenty of clear days though, if not really hot days, where we were by the coast, with the coastal 'breezes'.
Lola visited that japanese garden on her visit two weeks back. Said it was splendiferous, in that cool and subdued japanese manner. Actually she didn't say that but I'm sure I'm right. We have one in Vancouver too. It is a very compelling aesthetic.

(Osso, One of my good analyst friends took me to the Japanese gardens last Sunday. It was truly beautiful!)
Walter, I'm so sorry we're going to miss you! You wouldn't want to change your plans and visit Portland instead, would ya?
McTag........send Fiona on over. We're driving our new car. We picked it up today. BMW 328xi......beautiful. I didn't drive it yet. Bernie hoged it up all day. But tomorrow, I'll insist.
Goll dang. There ya go then.
Lola and blatham,
congrats on the fast-approaching nuptuals!!
Congrats to Lola and blatham!
Best wishes on your new endeavors, wherever they may take you.
Is it a done deal yet? Is someone taking photos? Did Frank get off the golf course long enough to head into town for the event?
Details, we need details.
I just spilled a whole bunch of rice in my kitchen...could it be a sign ?
My life for the next few weeks has a number of uncontrollable variables...but I remain hopeful.
C'mon Noddy. Let's move from hopeful to cautiously optimistic!
Eugenie and I are really looking forward to seeing you again.

I was watching this thread for the same reason. How did everything go today, Lola and Blatham?
EhBeth--
Due to unsettled circumstances....I should know more by the end of the week.
Wandeljw--
Thanks for the reminder.
Someone should start a special thread for Wedding Wishes, Tomasina said lazily.
The Wedding The Road Trip and the Rain.........and the Ferry...

I don't know why the Hampster is being so hard to deal with......... But I'm sure you can all find the new topic without further assistance from me. It's in North America.
Goofy me.........I finally got it right.

Oh here I am...(let me wipe my face clean so nobody will suspect a thing)...
So far things look decent, we will see as time progressess.
Hostess may extend her stay in Afghanistan--or she may not.
Life is full of detours.

Bethie, I'm in. Actually I'm in for whatever activity is scheduled the evening of 6/10.
(We don't have to be red-carpet worthy for the cheap seats, right?)
Beth, Have you provided the exact dates of your impending visit? Are specific dates already reserved for specific activities?
I know there's plenty of time. But all of a sudden there won't be. We need to make a plan to make a plan.
Eugenie, Brenda and I will be arriving the afternoon of Thursday June 7th, departing the afternoon of Tuesday June 12th.
The only thing etched in marble is the first half of Friday - the traditional early early morning Staten Island Ferry ride followed by a lower Manhattan museum visit (and a check at Kee's for available chocolates) - then hopefully a festive greeting for Walter in the afternoon as he returns from his Boston excursion.
Sunday, we're thinking breakfast - then Central Park - working our way toward the Tony Awards or adult beverages in the Theatre District while the Tony Awards are going on.
There is a master list of things The Toronto Squad would like to see and do, but the timing's very flexible.

I need to get in touch with Frank Apisa and find out when he's thinking of coming in for one of his ManhattanWalks.
