Noddy --

At full moon -- like tonight -- I don't even dare leave my hovel. Too many things going 'bump' in the night.

Merry Andrew--

The most dangerous creatures under a full moon are poets, lovers, lunatics and the Vikings as well as the occasional 'lore creature.

During the dark of the moon, the beasts that go bump and other nameless terrors lurk.

Such a sweet picture. She's pregnant!

Sorry, the deer ate the tulips years ago. I suspect she might drop by to sample some birch leaves which are a most appetizing shade of green.

It wasn't the deer ate my tulips. Some chipmunks dug up the bulbs and had an onion feast.

Voles and mice love my crocus. Come spring, you can see the harvesting tunnels they made through the mulch under the snow.

Snowdrops and daffodils are poison. I like snowdrops and daffodils.

noddy :
do you remember "the unicorn ate the tulips story" that appeared many years ago in reader's digest ?
husband to wife still in bed early in the morning : "darling , there is a unicorn in the garden eating the tulips ! ".
wife sees no unicorn and assumes husband is ready for loonie-bin .
she phones local hospital .
men in white coats appear quickly and ask husband : "did you see unicorn eating the tulips ?" .
husband : "who told you that story ?" .
whitecoats : "well , your wife phoned and told us " .
husband : "do you see any unicorn in the garden ?" .
whitecoats : "no" .
husband : " well , my wife is not quite with it ; you better take her with you " .
screaming wife being dragged off by whitecoats !
-END OF STORY-
Shocked Laughing

That could make for an interesting thread, blatham.

E and I got into a total fit of the giggles yesterday, making plans for what to do in New York. People were glad to have us sit together on the streetcar, instead of laughing across the rows and aisle.

Blatham, hah, just a few hours ago, I didn't post on the new university architecture because there weren't photos with the article. Besides, I'm always bathing a2k with relatively unpopular architecture threads. And, just yesterday, Dys was telling Diane and I about the Japanese Garden in Portland, how great it is, and I said that I'd look it up, there must be a lot of photos online.

I once was hired as a consultant on garden design for the area around a tea house to be brought to the US, for a mentor of mine who was doing the tea house retrofit. Well, I was hired by the mentor but not the guy paying for the teahouse transport et al, who had his own favorite landarch. So it goes. Anyway, I look forward to seeing more photos of that Portland garden - if I find some good ones, I'll start a thread.

37 inches is about the same amount of rain that drizzled over my most recent old home town. We still got plenty of clear days though, if not really hot days, where we were by the coast, with the coastal 'breezes'.

So..........did Bernie tell you we're getting married on Tuesday? Sorry for the late notice. We only decided yesterday.

(Osso, One of my good analyst friends took me to the Japanese gardens last Sunday. It was truly beautiful!)

Walter, I'm so sorry we're going to miss you! You wouldn't want to change your plans and visit Portland instead, would ya?

McTag........send Fiona on over. We're driving our new car. We picked it up today. BMW 328xi......beautiful. I didn't drive it yet. Bernie hoged it up all day. But tomorrow, I'll insist.

This coming Tuesday???

I certainly would like to change my plans. But since I booked non-refundable tickts already in November... (I'm sure, Portland will be even nicer in 2008!)

Congrats to the car as well!!!

My suspicion is the same folks who make the Keep Portland Weird bumperstickers have lured Bernie and Lola to within striking distance of Mt St Helens. So much more dangerous than the Lower East Side.

Ah, might as well help
Take the tour

I would like to request a new thread entitled:

The Wedding, the Road Trip, the Rain.
