Oho! Portland, Oregon, wow!
Congratulations! There is some fine biking and hiking to be done in that area. I'm jealous. Again.
Say, you aren't giving away that fabulous apartment of yours in NYC, are you? If so, let me declare loudly that I am the first in line!

We're joining the Lutheran choir while we're there.
Since I've visited the Wartburg a couple of times ... I'm predestinated for the "first uncontrolled voice".

Jane has just returned from Portland Oregon. The psychoanalytic community there has presented her with a not-to-be-refused offer. So it looks like we are moving there (keeping the jewelry business going online and via some shops). And we are going at the end of this month.
Which means we have just created a big problem for Walter who was going to stay with us. I am now trying to sort out some alternate accomodations for him while he's here. Anyone who might be able to help us get this sorted out, please drop me a pm.

Sad to say, this will all have to be cancelled because nobody thought to consult me.
On the other hand....
<thinks> It's Mrs McTag's ambition to drive across the USA, so if you can cram the contents of Lola's rooms into a U-Haul trailer, she could drive it over there for ya......whaddaya say?
Bernie, Lola--
You're not impulsive. You're quick to act and react.
Hold your dominion.

I was hoping for a yard sale. I'd book a ticket to hit New York for that.
Great news, Bernie and Lola!
Well, goodness. Aren't you all the sweestest darned folks. Apartment will have to be set free. Our new one in Portland ought to be fine too, though with a different sort of city outside. But family and kayaking and skiing sounds pretty good too, if a tad vanilla after this wonderful place. There's an Italian lady who lives the the four story walkup next door to our shop. She hangs out on the stoop or leans out her window and chats with folks walking by. She's lived there for forty years and was born two blocks away. When she was little, Lucky Luciano rubbed her head for good luck. She started crying yesterday because we were leaving. She said nice stuff. It's the same block where Jimmy Cagney grew up. I'll miss this place a lot.
Of course we are going to miss everything that was planned related to Walter's visit. That's really unfortunate and had we been able to avoid it (lease terms didn't permit) we certainly would have. Particularly because Walter is in my list of top five a2k humans. And Jane and I really felt badly about this sudden change and what it might mean for Walter's plans. Sheesh. Now it is the whole move thing (apartment AND shop).
Love you all.

Sounds like something out of Star Trek.
Quite apt too, in W's case.

I'm not so sure. Might even drag me down deeper re reputation
Having met both B and W, I'm sorry about the exactitude of the timing.
You'll both be fine, but miss out on a great connection. So it goes...

I didn't know that, Noddy. I'll be more careful driving now.
