June is a benign month in NYC as far as climate goes.

Mac! You too? This would be truly wonderful!

I just need to remind folks that I'm very limited in my ability to get around. But a meeting at a lovely, inexpensive place (like the one Beth mentioned) would be positively divine. I'm already looking forward to this.

Noddy. I can offer no guarantees about the weather. Who can? But yes, June can be benign. It can also be as hot as hell. It depends. It's fairly certain that it won't be cold.

Well, when I was there that April, one day it was 42 and the next it was 81.
Sort of like Los Angeles in January...

Roberta - the Cooper-Hewitt is near you, isn't it?

I think we can find something in your area that meets our requirements. There's always a Hot and Crusty nearby mmmmm

Or the Chirping Chicken?

Yes, Beth. The Cooper Hewitt is very near to me. Not sure I can manage my way around the place, but I would be willing to give it a try. I'm also sure we'd be able to find a place to stop in for a snack. I'll keep my eyes peeled.

Walter! No, I didn't know. Wonderful! We'll eat. We'll schmooze.

My planned visit is ... Chicago until June 4, then NY until 13th, besides two days in Boston inbetwen.

And I'm glad that I know, schmooze is nothing to be ashamed of afterwards

Will there be a Chicago A2K Meet? If so, pencil me in.

I'll certainly meet the Chicago folks ... and would be pleased to see you there, too.

I suggest, you subscribe to the Chicago thread as well

If you're up for the excursion, we'll do it. If not, cheap and cheerful snacks very near to home it'll be. I haven't met Walter in person, but I suspect he'll be amenable to meeting you where and whenever works for you.

(I partially asked about the Cooper-Hewitt to orient myself to your location - and both Hot and Crusty and the Chirping Chicken could meet a couple of our requirements - with the Chirping Chicken likely to be reasonably quiet off-schedule)

Time enough to plan - now - GET BETTER soonish!

Just make sure she gets some food if you are with her. She damn near took a bite out of a cop while we were walking in the Village last year...claiming it was allowed because she was hungry.

I will let all the people posting here decide who the she/her is in that last paragraph. I ain't namin' no names.

Oh goody!!!!

Swimpy, we haven't started formal plans yet, but we'll get the ball rolling soon on the Chicago thread. The only thing set at this point are the dates June 1 - 4.

I wish it were me, ehBeth, I would love to meet the New York crowd.

(One problem: last year, Walter forgot the combination for the locks on his fancy Belgian luggage. Dyslexia had to use his gun to shoot the locks open. Smile )

Ha!

I'd forgotten about Walter and the lock/gunsmith.

Maybe hand luggage?

(he's not allowed to lock that)

Nobody can even think how much angst I had during all those hours: alone in a foreign country, surround be strange people like dys ... and all what I had in a locked suitcase ...

But wandel is bad, indeed.
