I apologize, Walter. I was only trying to point out the fallacy behind ehBeth's scenario. Smile

ehBeth, Assuming that Frank is talking about you, when we're together, please promise not take a bite out of any people. You're going back to Canada, but I gotta live here!

Moi?

Me?

Mild-mannered little woman that I am, you'll be able to arm-wrestle me to the ground if I cause any trouble.

Of course I haven't read the whole thread. It's almost 300 pages! I've just read the part where you're coming to da Big Apple. I read the part about Walter's luggage. And about some nice places to eat. And about you potentially taking a bite out of an officer of the law. You couldn't find somone unarmed?

I posted this elsewhere but I made a mistake and made an inside joke about menus being shoved under your door (which is a New York problem)

Here in all their glory are over three thousand New York City restaurant menus. Wanna know before you go if PietraSanta has lobster ravioli? Punch it up.

If you are coming to New York, be hungry and don't eat at any chain restaurants.

Yeah, like, I hate it when you open up a site like that and half the menus are, like, in Finnish.

Your guest post from Overheard in New York:

Quote:
They're Even Worse

Tourist hubby: Excuse me, how can I get to Broadway?
New Yorker: Take the A, C, L, J, or Z downtown -- remember, downtown -- all the way to Broadway Junction. It's fairly far, but you can't miss it.
Tourist wifey: Wow, New Yorkers are not the ass holes people say they are.

--Union Square subway station

A Complicated One Is Best Left to the Experts

Tourist fighting his way off the train: Look, people. You actually have to let us out of the train before you can get on.
Old guy: This is New York, son. A simple 'F*ck you' will do.

--Metro, 53rd & Lex

Actually, He Was Only Cuban in College

A man waves goodbye to two guys trying to help him with the subway map and departs the train.

Guy #1: Was he drunk?
Guy #2: No, he's just Cuban.

--Queens-bound N train

Overheard by: Javi

You Can't Live in the City If You Can't Screen out Distractions

Guy: So, where were you this evening?
Sober girl #1: I was in Little Italy.
Drunk guy: Shoes! Go on YouTube and search for 'shoes'!
Sober girl #1: Oh my god! I've seen that video! 'These shoes cost...'
Drunk guy and sober girl #2: 'Three hundred dollars'!
Drunk girl: You two are hot. You should f*ck her in the ass.
Guy: So, where were you this evening?
Sober girl #1: I was in Little Italy.

That's a very funny site, nimh.

May I ask, in passing, why you have an Irish girl's name?

No problemo. I am in my skivvies, actually very cool Nike shorts, most everyday and they do not have any pockets. (There's a little teeny sacklike thingie that it big enough to hold one key. Definately NOT made for NY runners---who has ONE key?) Anyway, my sweatshirt has no pockets either, so I use a shoulder wallet. It straps on and is big enough to hold money, keys and a MetroCard-the esential things of life.

With my wallet strapped on one side and my Zeno music player on the other, I look like a Cyborg.

Hey, Joe. Each and every one of these menus has been stuffed under my door, except for the 12th one down under the Ss.
