Guys, you realize you'll have to recreate this gathering for every election from now on, right? Dunno what voodoo you were up to, exactly, but it seems to have worked pretty well!

No doubt my snoring sounded so threatening Republican voters believed the apocalypse was coming. So they didn't show up at the polling stations.

More apocalyptic sounds. Good. So that would explain it. At this point of the conversation, joefromchicago would give you his speech about correlation vs. causation, but don't buy it.

Being a modern sort, I'm comfortable with the thesis advanced by mathematical types which holds forth the possibility that parallel universes flutter off on either side of us like those old acid trails. In one of those universes, thomas and joefromchicago team up to form a successful silent movie comedy duo.

Blatham - I just nudge him and he rolls over like a puppy and if he doesn't stop snoring I just kick him out. It works every time!

Been to a powerful play this evening at our wonderful theatre in Manchester. It was all about love and money, debt and loneliness. Very powerful and I have to say depressing but superbly acted and directed.

Up early to collect McTag so must retire now. I can't wait to hear ALL the stories.

I dared not nudge him abed...he seems the aggressively romantic type.

Your fella is an absolute treasure. His company was agreeable on all counts. He is welcome with us any time, as are you.

Blatham and Lola

McTag is back! And Wow what a trip. You have both been so kind to him. He has had a wonderful time and is full of stories especially of your warm friendship and hospitality.

The photos are just brilliant although there are not enough of the party! But having seen the pictures, all 391 of them, I don't feel quite so left out. Thank you all for looking after him so well.

Welcome home McT. It will take a while to adjust, but you'll soon get back in the swing of things, except the language obviously...Smile

and thanks too to FionaB for keeping us informed of McT's progress. Must admit I was a bit concerned and not a little envious when I first learned McT had gone awol in the big apple.

I've been asleep but I'll write more later.

My photos came out pretty well, especially of a sunlit walk yesterday across Central Park with Blatham and Thomas.

Having had the pleasure of watching the two of them in person, I agree...a great comedy duo. However, silence would take all the fun out of it.

Blatham, you must ask them about the postmodern opera concept we invented at the Chicago get-together. Especially the part about the chorus. I start laughing every time I think of it.

Well, consider this a request to hear a description. "Post-modern" is a wonderful prefix and attached to any noun (say, 'toilet') offers up pretty certain yuks.

thomas too has now spent his last evening with us as of yesterday. Post-McTag/Thomas and sundry others, we have no crumb or spatter of food left and our highly social Tonkanese cat Tarzana has fallen into a deep depression. On the other hand, I can once again talk dirty to Lola.

Does this indicate that the talk of the others were dirtier than yours?
