Let me just say that if you are not in any of their wills, it may be too late.

I just got back from voting. Paper ballots here, just like there were back in old north north California. I sure hope my and my ex's friend Debra Bowen gets in as secretary of state in California, which not that long ago I thought was behind the curve. Bowen is very savvy re the computer matters including electronic voting and re transparency in government and wants to go to paper ballots til the security matters are ironed out. Would be ironic if she didn't get in and there are more questions with this election.

Wishin' I was in New York with y'all. Waves to Fiona from afar.

Unfortunately not. This fine apartment still has living tenants. But I"m working on it.

The party must be going strong, since no one's posting here. What's up?

I showed up about two hours ago with an axe and a mission. The ensuing hour or so was a symphony of violence and destruction.

I caught Bernie on the can in the bathroom--boy was HE surprised!

I'm just about finished cleaning up the blood, and I'm getting ready for bed now.

Finally, this beautiful apartment is mine.

MINE! MINE! MINE!

Kicky did not suspect I was hiding in the laundry basket, and he was the last one to take the long drop.

His parting comment was

"You BAA...." and I didn't hear the rest.

A short while ago, georgeob phoned and let us know that he'd missed the train he needed to catch in order to get here before midnight. This was a serious disappointment to me personally as I had really wanted to see him in tears (we have just one republican here, Helen of Troy, and she is merely grumpy). In fact, I have a lot of affinity for george and was truly disappointed.

It's a great night.

Well, we're all well fed.....I've put a few of us to sleep with full tummies. I've washed many of the dishes and we're all settling in to desert and coffee.....those of us who are still awake.

The election results are looking promising. But we still don't know. We're glued to the TVs. CNN in the living room and MSNBC in the bedroom. In spite of reports of mass murder, we're all doing fine. Except for George, with whom I am profoundly disappointed. And Joe Nation, who should know better than to disappoint.

Dys called earlier, then georgeob called with his miserable excuses. Joe from Chicago called as well. He's wishing he was here, as we all are. Kicky just left with an excuse about having to give his cat an insulin shot. Frank left earlier because he had to catch a train back to New Jersey. But the rest of us are hanging in there. Our fingers are crossed, except for HofT. And she's good humoredly putting up with the rest of us.

So right now, everyone is asleep except for me and Bernie. Thomas is slumbering on the lounger. McTag on one end of the couch and HofT on the other.

How unusual to find Bernie awake while others sleep.

BBC interviewed some pundit from VA sorry the most respected psephologist at the University of Virginia who said a margin of 10,000 makes it a dead cert Democratic win. Same logic in Montana. So I think Bush now has to face a democratic House of Reps and Senate and that Polesi woman. Smile

How's the clearing up going Bernie? Any sign of HofT and McT beneath the debris?

Guys, you realize you'll have to recreate this gathering for every election from now on, right? Dunno what voodoo you were up to, exactly, but it seems to have worked pretty well!

That's very funny, soz. But I think we ought to assume that the mojo here is so potent that slight variations in attendance (not to mention napping habits) would not prove a significant danger to electoral outcome. Therefore, next time, you'll have to come.

Joe Nation made a late bid to rescue what was left of his reputation (about which the jury is still out) by getting here about 24 hours too late.

A charming guy, and a road runner to rival Speedy Gonzales they say.
