I was referring more to general philosphy than individuals. For instance, we all want excellent education for our children. Liberals would prefer more tax money to schools, higher teacher salaries across the board, more programs in schools, tax-funded preschool. Conservatives would like to see more competition, programs like vouchers, more parental involvement and control. We all want to be comfortable in our retirement and to have our elderly well-cared for. Liberals would like to see more social programs to pay for it, more assistance. Conservatives would like to see more personal choices and personal responsibility for retirement planning. We all want to end hunger and poverty. Liberals would like to see more assistance programs, school lunch programs, shelters, subsidized housing. Conservatives would like to see more economic growth to provide jobs and to let private charities take care of people, rather than government.

It's a difference of opinion about how to achieve what are, for the most part, the same common goals.

I've heard the schpiel. We could argue it all day long, but there's no way to get out of paying taxes. And conservative politics usually comes down to people not wanting to pay taxes.

Well, Bobby's evolution into a real mensch made his assassination by Sirhan Sirhan such a tragedy. I guess I'm just a romantic: all those promises unfulfilled ...

As to 'all tingly' ... hello? Have you looked at your avatar? Twisted Evil

To be more precise, conservative politics usually comes down to rich people wanting the rest of us to pay taxes.

Not true. It's about keeping taxes to a minimum, not elimination of taxes altogether. It's about keeping things fair. Personally, I like idea of a national sales tax on everything but essentials. That way, folks who don't have much and don't spend much, don't pay much. The rich who purchase extravagant stuff pay extravagant taxes.

I'm glad your panties didn't stay bunched up for very long...yes that's what I was looking for Idaho...a little explanation to reflect on the thread.

"more parental involvement and control"
Hell Idaho, I've taught in elementary school. Liberals don't want less parental involvement and control...our society is dumping kids at school to be babysat by underpaid teachers while two-wage families pursue the American dream.

Thank you. That's exactly what I mean. The conservative philosophy, in practice, seems to me to be one of judgment and blame whereas the liberal philosophy seems to be one of research and fix. Just my opinion and I realize that over the years the two have probably taken turns playing the each other's roles. I grew up hearing, however, that the liberal philosophy was tax and spend, big government, socialism and immorality, etc... That's just not true.

Quote:
Why should men do kegel exercises regularly?

kegel exercises increase the bloodflow to the genital area, and so support sexual arousal mechanisms.

kegel exercises strengthen and tone the muscles that are involved in ejaculation, and so men who Kegel can, if they do some additional work with themselves, gain greater control over the timing of their ejaculations.

kegel exercises prevent incontinence and other problems that are often associated with aging

Are we now referring to the object hoisting that barbell a mechanism?
Cool! Laughing

Just as serious in an overgeneralizing sense as anyone else.

The way I see it, the drag works the other way; liberalism, to the extent that there is still anythiing legitimate about it at all, is being suffocated by the drag of a rogue and outlaw political party i.e. the democrats.

The democrat party is primarily supported by trial lawyers and public sector unions mainly the NEA, the only connection of either of which to normal America being hatred and distrust; is led by a collection of rogues and gangsters, and has lost any claim of a vision it might ever have had in its incessant pandering to special interest groups in the vain hope of cobbling together a voting majority out of those interest groups, despite the interests of those groups usually being at loggerheads with one another.

In other words, the thing Jesus said about a man not being able to serve two (or more) masters is a particular problem for democrats.

How did poor ole' Jesus get dragged into all this again? Laughing

Anyway, I have no problem with this part of your first paragraph:
Quote:
liberalism is being suffocated by the democrats
