Eech! Sorry to hear about the tooth problem littlek, and the impending dental work. I hope the tooth isn't causing you any pain.

But just in case, I'm sending out a big hot bowl of cyber soup for you!

I know it's got to be rough on you at times. It must feel like you're working full-time but not really getting compensated for it. It takes a lot of patience and that's not easy.

But with every step in this process you're building a pathway to a future in which you'll be able to do something you actually want to do -- and I think you'll be good at it!

It won't be too much longer now. Look how far you've come already!

Thanks Stray Cat.

The tooth is causing no pain. A filling that last dentist put in cracked and chunk of it fell out.

Working full time and not getting compensated - I do feel compensated, just not enough.

My sister is trying not to have to pay me for the 2 weeks she put both kids in camp full time. So, now I am trying to find a 2-week job in mid July. Not easy. I get 70 bucks a day from the school, minus taxes. I work 50 hours per week and go to school. No wonder I am so frazzled most of the time.

Oh, and I caught my sister's nasty cold which is making it around her family.

Honestly k, your sister! Rolling Eyes

Just curious, what arguments did she use to justify this?

And now a cold, too! I trust she is paying for your medical expenses?

Well, that really is NOT nice of your sister, lil'k.

Wait 'til she starts to feel better, then go sneeze on her. Evil or Very Mad

I'd had it with your sister a long time ago. So none of my business, just sayin. What a shortsighted person.

She's never been broke. I think she just doesn't get it. I have had it with her as well. Next year, I'll be working for her only sporadically. Just one more summer.

Our mother thinks I should find another job and fit her in where I can. Let her deal with it. My mother! She never wants to get in the middle. Obviously, she's getting tired of the whole thing. Prolly with both my sister and me.

And why not, k?
I mean your sister has the finances to afford this. You are hardly in a situation to (continue to) subsidize her.
Another part-time job could help you get by with less of a struggle.
You could still have contact with the children, yes?

What my mother was suggesting was another job entirely. That my sister would have to find other means to take care of her kids.

I will still spend time with the kids. There will be after-school hours with them this fall. Those might be sporadic. And, when I am working in the school after xmas (if I am!) I'll spend more time with them after school. If they pay me. If they don't, I'll do something else after school.

I plan to become a full-time aunt when I am hired as a teacher.

That's what I thought you meant & what I was responding to. k. Or teaching, plus another part-time job.

I see. Well, after this summer. I'll work in my landlady's yard, for my parents and maybe some other random gardening jobs.

Here's an early nomination for the 2007 Stupid Award.

I was at my rental unit today for a condo meeting, and after stopped into my place to check on it, and ask a couple questions about something. The same guy that emailed me a couple months ago asking if I could replace a lightbulb had another request: to put his a/c in his window for him. Fair enough, better than him dropping it out the window on to a car.

I walk in his room, and his a/c is indeed plugged in and turned on: propped up on a chair in the middle of the room.

I could definitely tell he was a little weird before he moved in, but he's a nice guy and has a steady job.....it was during an odd month he was moving in, so there wasn't a ton of people looking.

You want me to set you up with him, littlek? He kind of looks like sloth from the Goonies.

Sheesh! Did he have a drip pan under it, at least?

Luckily for me it mostly happened outside. It was only about 5-6 people. he made dinner which amounted to a huge mess, but cleaned up before going to bed (mostly). K was glad to have snuck in and made my dinner before he got into full swing.
