Oh, Walter, I fear opening that, it could keep me glued to the computer all week. Not that I don't have thousands of photos myself, and I think LoisLane does too.
Ok, I give up, I'm looking up the link...
Loislane, I checked that place out, and it's not available for the dates I need, according to Venere.com. Crap.
It's okay though, I sent requests for rates and availability to about fifteen other places in the wee hours of this morning, so hopefully I'll get something soon.
Good for you, Kicky..
Walter, I looked at the link, under Arezzo - all I've looked at so far. Er, sort of dismal photos, taken at wide angle, I think. But it's a good resource to know about. I'll look further later.
Well the pix on that site aren't technically fabulous--as Osso pointed out, many wide angled and slightly distorted--but they did answer a few questions about some churches I shot in Lucca and forgot the names of! But they are a big dose of wannago-wannagetthererightNOW.
Thanks for the site Walter!
Yeah. I have many better photos of Arezzo by me, and it was gray and grungy when we were there too. One might actually want to go there from my pictures, or if not, not be repelled. Still, it's a useful photobase to refer to.
Loislane, you know I (we all) want to hear about your next trip...
I think I shouldn't be quite so snotty. I appreciate the work the person did to put all those photos on the internet, and they are a good resource.
Kicky, now you now a lot about travel in Italy, you must know a little about Italian behaviour.
Click this link and be patient, it would take a while to download (better with sound).
Italian behavior
That's hilarious...
I particularly loved the theatre line..
My italian friends find it hilarious either!
Ha! That is funny. I liked the "pedestrian crossing" thing, and the "waiting for the bus" part.
... you will miss the 'Bus part'. (Of you go for that in your order.)
'Suppose now you're ready for your trip!
I don't remember the ped crossing thing to be actually true to my experience, such as it was - italian drivers seem to have an uncanny knack to miss you, based on quick calculations of where you'll be within a certain number of milliseconds, as long as you don't jump about - but the theatre one reminds me of real experiences.
Bus - yes, very funny. That exact thing didn't happen to me with buses, but other things did...
I remember yesterday the name of the shop for the bestest foccaccie in Modena: Molinari, in Via Emilia.
They were great in 1976. Great in 1987. Great in 2002. They must still be great.
BTW, the cartoon is really about Mexico!
Hmmm, I wonder about the relative rate of auto accidents in England, Italy, Mexico, and the US... Italy might come out fairly well in that.
About Europe take a look on this :
Road to hell
Right on, Francis. Those numbers are much like those I've read over the years. There's a reason Canadian auto policies don't cover you when you're driving in Europe. <nods>
The UK has the lowest road death rate in the European Union: 6.1 per 100,000 population; Italy is 17.0 per 100,000 (Portugal ranks highest with 21.0). The USA is at 14.3; Mexico is at 13.0.
