I'm a screenwriter, and I'd like to use the phrase "destroy the old to build the new" (or "we destroy" or "one must destroy" or "destroying"). It will be a Latin motto engraved on a building or a monument--one of those little things that most viewers won't notice, but the ones who do will appreciate it, because it fits the theme of the movie.
Thanks a lot. I've had fun skimming all these threads. The phrases people mention are so telling!
Antiquum delemus ut novum struamus.
"We destroy the old in order to build the new."
destroy the old
Thank you, George. You rock in any language!
You're welcome.
Check back in and tell us about the the screenplay sometime.
