A Good Night's Sleep....Worth $3000???

Reply Thu 6 Jan, 2005 01:34 pm
My husband and I are in the market for a new mattress set. We want to upgrade to a king. Of course, the one we want is $2999 for the king. This isn't even top quality! We didn't bother to look at those.

Why in god's name are mattresses so expensive?! Anyone else frustrated with the insanely high price of mattresses?

Well, good news...it went on sale for only $1500. That is still expensive! I'm gonna need the bed to fall on when i pass out from the bill. Rolling Eyes

If you engage in 90 minutes of wild, wet, loud monkey sex...you know, the kind where your stomachs rub together and make those fart noises....you'll get a good nights sleep on a bed of nails....buy a cheap mattress and invest in some sex toys, porn videos, oils and maybe an occasional third party...money well spent....and you'll sleep like a baby...

Yeah, astronomical profit in those, along the lines of furniture.

I do place a high priority on having a good matress, and good nights sleep but really.....from laying on one for 2 minutes in a store... can you tell what's a good one for you so you can even justify the hight price if it were?

This bed was like...oh god, I can't even explain... I never wanted to get up. I could envision my entire life revolving around this mattress. It was a pillowtop....with memory foam....and it was *shiver* phenomenal......

I'm going to buy that mattress. You made me think about it and now I can't stop. I think there might be something unholy about the way I feel about this mattress.

What kind is it??

We're also looking into a new bed and were wondering about the sleep number one or those other posturepedic beds that everyone raves about.

I've always wondered about those mattresses they advertise on TV and sell in Brookstone, they conform to you. I bet they're comfy.

But do you guys think peanut butter and chocolate syrup would easily stain on a mattress like that?

It is an Ultra Plush Sealy Posturepedic. And.....oh, I can't even talk about it without wanting to feel it's lush softness under me.....

I am quickly regretting my hasty statements in my first post that might lead someone to believe I am not deeply in love with this mattress. I'd hate for it to be angry with me.....

I spent about $1000 for a queen-size Sealy Posturepedic Silverado (?) a couple of years ago. It's worth every penny.
