I finally got my hands on the 120 minute IPA from Dogfish Head. Only 20 cases were released in Chicago and even at ten bucks a bottle they are flying off the shelves. Link

Will report back after I try it.

Wow! As you can imagine SUPER hoppy, but is offset with a carmely, sweet taste. It has a warm finish that lets you know there is a good amount of alcohol in it.

You can smell the hops and more so the malt, but it is also a bit citrusy.

Thats as far as my creative writing skills go.

well that just sucks.

I was ready to order and they can not ship.

Im sure it is due to not being able to prove the purchasers age

>sigh<
I feel as though I am missing out on something here..

I'm already trying to justify buying a few more. Very Happy

If you go out to a club you end up spending like 7 dollars a beer and thats just Miller Lite and this is as strong as a couple Millers...

Take a look around your local stores and ask about Dogfish head. They are readily available around here. The 90 minute is pretty good not sure about the availability of the 120 minute one.

Mmmmmmm, Dogfish Head!

So, it was worth the $10/bottle? I wonder if I'll ever break down and try it.....

I think it was. Not something I would drink all the time but unique enough to try. I think I am going to grab a few bottles and see how they age.

Ok. I said that May was going to be a dry month. It's May 1st and I am tipsy. I did however not drink for most of last week. I am broke this month and need to cut back - alcohol is a good thing to cut back on. So, maybe I'll look for this 120 in June.

Hop on a plane and come to the gathering, I'll have a bottle waitng for you, not to mention a keg of Goose Island IPA.

Seriously, I was hoping you and Dasha could have made it.

Sublime, I'd loved to have come. Maybe next time. I have extraordinarily needy animals. They won't be around long, but they need me now. AND, if I can't afford a 10 dollar beer, how can I afford a plane ticket....?

Sigh.

I will travel again, this I know. Just not now.

Reviving this thread to say how cool my local liquor store is. I went in to pick up my keg of goose island and the ower didn't know the price off hand so she said next time I am in the neighborhood stop by and pay for it then. In these days of corporate anominity this was a breath of fresh air. Its good to know that their are stores still around with this kind of mindset.

Any other hop minded individuals take a look at the website and feel free to recommend any of the many beers they carry. (sorry Kris they still do not have Stones in Chicago)

I take it you are not giving a ringing endorsement for Lone Star? How about I swap you an Old Style for a Lone Star?
