Hi, it's me again with my same way kind of questions.If you want to rest your mind you have to understand.That is a difficult task to know.

I know , you just answer me and I will keep asking till the day of judgement. Very Happy


1) why we use the different expressions,

- Everybody knew him with that name.

- He had come to be known by this name among people.


2) Am I right that mountain is bigger than mount?


3)What is the difference between thought about / thought over ?

1. The idiom is "by that name". Possibly if you knew him "with that name", "that name" was an alias.

2. "Mount" is a poetic term for "Mountain" and not frequently used anymore. "Mount" as a noun is also used for "riding animal"--a mountain is definitely larger than a horse or a camel or an elephant.

3. I'd say that "thought about" was a more idle, less structured process than "thinking over". "Thinking over" has definite implications of reconsidering a situation, possibly in the light of new information.
