Please point out the best one from the following:
1) Be it black or white, a cat that catches mice is a good cat.
2) It doesn't matter if a cat is black or white as long as it catches mice.
3) The performance review on a cat is based on its skills in catching rats!
4) It doesn't matter whether a cat is black or white as long as it can catch mice.
5) A cat, regardless of being white or black, is a good cat as long as it can catch mice.
1, 2 or 5.
1 is very proverb-ish
2 is very direct and is writen in a way that someone would speak the concept.
5 may need another comma before the first as.
Thank you Littlek.
I am much inspired by you.
Oristar, 1, 2, and 4 are ok. 5 is ungrammatical.
A cat, regardless of being white or black, is a good cat as long as it can catch mice. "Regardless of being" doesn't make sense. Change to regardless of whether it's or something similar.
Definitely follow Roberta's advice!
yes Roberta's advice is good
but excuse me?
all cats are great! never mind their ratting/mousing skills

Vivien, you're incorrigible.
