How do you call this pink dragon from "Shrek"? How is it originally? Because in polish version it's "Smoczyca" - if she had husband-dragon, that dragon will be called "Smok" (english - just dragon).

The dragon was always referred to as "Dragon" just like the donkey had no acutal name but was just called "Donkey".

Oh, yeah. I've asked if there is some female form of word 'dragon'. For example is there is a human, the female form is 'women' and male form is 'man'. Ad my question is - is there something similar with dragons or is only one word - dragon for male and female. Smile

The word "Dragon" can indicate a male or female in English. Many words in English do not indicate gender. In some ways we are moving away from gender identification such as the word "actor" and "actress". Women performers are more likely to describe themselves as an "actor" today. Some animals do have male/female names such as bull vs. heifer, rooster vs. hen, goose vs gander, etc.

Shocked

I think you are right stuh.....
I dont remember seeing the dragon in 2.
BUT- I have only seen it once and it was months ago,
so the dragon may have been in it...
but I dont rememer it ?

My favorite part of the movie is when Donkey turned into that horse... and he was dancing in place in the door way! Laughing
I thought that was great!

I thought it's similar situation like in polish - we have word 'smok' which means 'dragon' and 'smoczyca' what means.. for example 'the wife of dragon'. But I first heard this form ('smoczyca') in movie 'Shrek' so I thought 'twas sthg similar in english version. Smile

There was dragon in 'Shrek2' - at the end, with children.. donkey-dragon children.

The answer to your question is that a female dragon is called a she-dragon.
