I found some Quechuan words. I don't know if i wrote them correctly but i certainly would like to know what is the meaning of this words.
So here there are:
niwajtejkiri...ujatschisunki...sakeriwanki... nan nokapajba....inti tutajan... kausajninchejta... ijma sonkojba .....quanta munaspa...
I would be very happy if you know these words or if you know someone that knows them to write down the translation.
oddly enough, I have a quechuan dictionary somewhere around here..... I'll go look for it.
Actually, It's a phrasebook, so context would help, if you have some.
Out of all those words, I could only identify Inti = sun.
I found out here
Quechua-Spanish online dictionary that "ijma" means widow and "munaspa" is probably a declination of the verb to desire.
Hope the site is useful.
'nan' with the squiggle accent over the second 'n' is 'path'.
'Inti' is 'sun' and also means a single pice of Peruvian currency (it used to be called 'sol').
From a brief browsing of this little booklet, it seems that modern qeuchua has borrowed a lot from other languages. Also, it seems they compound words - like german, maybe....?
Ah, fbaezer is a more apt guide, I'd think.
Not at all, littlek. Quechuan is totally strange to me; the Andes, totally foreign.
And how on earth do you have a quechuan phrase book? Ever been to Peru?
Never been to Peru. I happened across the book while I was finishing up my B.S. in Anthropology. It was worth it. This is actually not the first time I've used it to help another.
thank you, thank you, thank you everyone, this is fantastic, it's great
