Thanks for the update, Montana. I'm sure they want Chantal healthy and home for Christmas.

I went through something very similar with my sister in law and niece -- we'd probably be her godparents if we weren't so darned godless. ;-) When my SIL was 9 months pregnant, she was found to have a brain tumor. She had to have a c-section, then we flew there and helped take care of the newborn for a week while SIL had surgery and was in intensive care. ("Helped" because her parents were there too, not that she could do anything.)

That was 6 years ago -- she recovered, got pregnant AGAIN, her brain tumor grew AGAIN, she zapped it with some new, non-invasive technology ("Gamma Knife"), and about 3 years on from that bout, is doing well. Tough gal.

Good luck to Chantal and Alex!

Montana--

I'm sure that branch of the family will be having a very joyful holiday season once the healing is well underway.

Have you had a chance to cuddle with the baby yet? The poor mite deserves a little extra cuddling until his mother comes home.

The doctors are saying that they will probably be home for Christmas, so here's hoping.

Soz
The doctors told her this was actually common with pregnant women and I was very surprised because I never heard that. Chantal is a tough cookie as well, so I expect she'll come through just fine.

I haven't even seen the little guy yet as he's still in the hospital, but I can't wait :-D

I'm now officially the godmother. My godson was baptized last night during the Easter mass and my son and I became first time godparents :-D

Congratulations, Montana!

We just spent a week in Sweden to attend the christening of my sister-in-law's daughter. BigDice is the godfather. My two godsons are 27 and 24... Man, I'm getting old!

Is everything still fine with your cousin's wife?

Thanks urs and congrats to you both as well :-D

I guess my cousins wife is doing ok for now. She had results from some tests last week and my cousin says she's all set for another year. They are eventually going to have to go back in to get the rest of it, but we are praying for her in the mean time. She's looking good and was jokingly giving me a hard time last night, so all is well for the time being.
I'll keep you all updated on her progress.

I'm glad things are turning out ok for Chantal and the baby. Congrats to the new godparents! That's cool that your son is the godfather. He must be proud and you must be too.
