a2k Search Engine? Is it getting worse than before?

Looking to post relevant things to threads I am certain to have posted on before.

Earlier today:
Wanted to look up my own jokish thread on the debate of hot dogs being sandwiches or not. Couldn't find it.

Thought there was a food thread on spicy food.

For one thing is for certain, the Search Forum tag search engine is abysmally worse than ever.

Then again, trying to use Google and Bing (their respective pages) to search for the threads have become pretty hit or miss.

If I know the exact name of a thread, I just search that name with able2know and google has always connected me.

Direct cause and effect from allowing only thread creators to tag their topics. A lot of people don't tag, or they don't tag well.

There were negatives to that, as you well know - a fair amount of **** as well as genuine subject matter. I get why the tag situation changed. I slightly miss it, but by now, what with escalation of personal insults, tags by all could turn into Niagara Falls.

I do get it was the right decision, for a lot of reasons that I could guess have to do with google searches and all that.

Even now, a person can make their own ridiculous tags. My hope is that rotten tomato throwers trip, slide, and swerve into the land of out of date ketchup.

I'm referring to both search engines: tag search engine and the a2k centric google search engine.

I suppose if I knew the exact name of the thread I wouldn't have this problem.

But it seems in the past, that the search engines seemed to work fine on paraphrased or incomplete title searches.

i thought for sure the taco one was a spinoff of an earlier hot dog thread, which i couldn't find...

It might have been a spinoff but that's the one I wanted to update.

I did have a hot dog thread or two or three.... I lost count. I don't have a problem with eating hot dogs. Maybe you do! Mad
