Might be of interest for our time in London:

Turner Whistler Monet

[And for Lippstadt: three Schützenfeste (all small ones, nearby),]

Is that where you stand still and someone shoots an apple off your head with a crossbow?

No - that's where you drink and some shoot at a wooden eagle.

I've once been - a little bit later than '53, though  - in Glinde at the Schützenfest. The rest is history, too (but quite different to yours Laughing ).

While those days are coming closer - the London gathering will be in two months - and because it takes some time to reconcile ...

what's the London schedule? Where and when do we meet? - ALL of us, I mean

Hey, guys, stop shouting. I was eating cucumber sandwiches and drinking a nice cup of tea and you interrupted me. Laughing

Do we have a date in mind otherwise how about 7th May? I should be able to make that although my daughter's getting married on the 15th May and I might possibly be pulling my hair out that day.

I know a really nice pub in Holborn if you have no other suggestions. It's called The Penderell's Oak.

So if there's no other plans, should we say Penderell's Oak on the 7th May at 12.30 pm?

Otherwise let's have some alternatives.

Now, I'll get back to my cucumber sandwiches .... must make the butler cut off the crusts in future.

Nice suggestion, but plans for the stay in London are fixed since some weeks already (around May 1)

Well, and plans for the 7th are already made - by me, to be exact - since we meet here in Germany at my place at that time

well other than the fact that we won't be in the merry olde may 7 as we are going to amsterdam and then on to Lippstadt where we will stay in the shadow of Walter. so it's may 1 or bust for us yanks.

How embarrassing. I've looked on my diary and I've already got an arrangement for the 1st .... and when I looked closer I saw it's the A2K meeting!!!!

So the 1st it is. We could still meet at Penderell's Oak unless you have another suggestion.

I reckon it's going to be great fun wherever it is.

Francis, there are clubs where MP's, bank managers and headmasters pay good money for a leather clad lady to whip them.

I'm offering my services for free .... so think on! Laughing

Well bloody hell the last time I made a suggestion for a pub venue in London I suggested PENDERELL'S OAK but KP trumped me with Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese.
What are the chances of that, eh? Of all the gin-joints in all the world, ya hadda come into mine.....

Quite a coincidence, wouldn't you agree? And good choice, kinky bear. Great minds think alike.
They serve food, too, and it's quite big, with a lot of private-ish separate areas.

And for the wealthy, there is a VERY POSH hotel just next door.

It's just east of Holborn tube station, if anyone wants to know, and just north of Lincoln's Inn Fields.
