i need to know what form of gusta i need to answer with
plz help!
Si' me gusto' el plato.
(Yes, 'I liked the dish, or, more precisely: The dish pleased me)
Si', me gustaron los dos platos.
('Yes, I liked both dishes.' or: 'both dishes pleased me'.)
The verb is gustarse. (to be pleased)
It is a reflexive verb, ie. it is always expressed as:
(1.) ____ pleased me,
or (2.) ______ pleased us,
or (3.) __________ pleased them
rather than
(1.) I liked _____
or (2.) We liked ______
or (3.) They liked _______
thx!! i think i get it now...
it's not actually reflexive jj, it's just the way it's used. if you say 'me gusto' with no accent, you're saying 'i please myself' and that has all sorts of connotations! You're right about the usage though, although you need to be careful with using it with a person as the subject ('me gustas' - lit. you please me)
