Silly question, I know, but I'm writing an English essay, I'm at the conclusion, I'm stuck. Does the following sentence make sense?
pride and prejudice can be overcome
is it can be overcome, or could be overcome, or do i need to reconstruct the sentence completely? plz help......
and Yep. I'm not British.... so... if you can help within the next few mins that'll be great... >.<
Hmm
can you give me the whole sentence, a bit of context?
at first glance I'd put a both in there, "pride and prejudice can both be overcome..."
Through Jane Austen's humour and sarcasm she shone the spotlight on the society's display of pride and prejudice, and through the two protagonists' love and developing relationship we as the reader begins to understand that all material obstacles can be overcome, just as pride and prejudice can be overcome.
thanks......
Jane Austen's use of humour and sarcasm highlighted her society's display of pride and prejudice, and through the protagonists' love for each other and developing relationship the reader begins to understand that all material obstacles can be overcome, just as pride and prejudice can each be overcome.
