There are about 10 million people in Britain. That would mean 365,000 deaths per year. After 10 years over one third the population would have died from obesity. Hey! That means more food for us!

Hmm, 10 million is surely just "about".

Take a couple more, and with 60 million you get the more correct number :wink:

Health problems caused by obesity are responsible for up to 400,000 deaths-a-year in the United States and 30,000 deaths-a-year in the UK, when you look at the recent reports in the media.

There are 24 million overweight or obese adults.

8.5 million are clinically obese.

17% of 12-15 years old are obese.
