I read in today Guardian that the Cerne Abbas giant is 2,000 years old, however I thought it only dated from Oliver cromwell time.

Are there any inaccurities you can think of?

When I first saw the giant, I've learnt that it was created by Romans or Celts. That was 40 years back.

Later I read that perhaps the monks just made a joke. That still would be about 600 years before Oliver Cromwell was born.

However, in the first written record of the giant, which appeared in 1751 in a letter by Dorset historian John Hutchins, he suggested that the figure was cut in the mid 1600's.

The most truly idiotic historical inaccuracy has to be the tale of Noah who collected two of every species on earth onto his ark so they wouldn't drown when it rained for 40 days and 40 nights.

Who the hell wrote this crap?

I don't think that this story about Noah has much to do with history.
