Does anyone here ever go partying in Chicago?
I just had possibly the best weekend of my life. That place is Goddamn insane. Well, alot obviously had to do with the people I was with, but also just an awesome time.
I went down with a friend to visit some girls he met last summer, whom I've never met. First of all, anytime you get me and him together drinking there's a 99.99% chance something funny's going to take place. He's my one friend I can count on going out with and absolutely tearing it up. Some of my other friends choose to be wallflowers, not this guy.
I seriously don't have enough time to write about the whole weekend, but some major points:
-The bars closed on 4am on Friday, and 5am on Saturday.
-Maybe it was more my vacation mentality, but the women were much easier to talk to than I find here. Picked up a different girl both nights, and they were both hot. Can only remember talking to one snob. Even the guys that we hung out with(friends with the girls we visited) were awesome.
-The downtown area is gorgeous, and huge. Didn't do alot or spend a lot of time down there, but had a drink on the 95th floor of the Hancock tower.
-Paper-rock-scissors isn't a fun game when you play for the $186 Sunday afternoon bar tab....and lose.
Thoughts on Chicago?
Love Chicago. Hate the mayor and the local politics. Meigs is dead. Long live Meigs.
only been there once slappy, i was only 17 so what i could get into was little and far between. but what i did get into was quite fun. i was there for a hockey camp thing... it was great fun, nights of drinking (soda) and women (the other hockey players sisters) were about all we could get into.
Oh yea....was introduced to these. A shot made of Red Bull and Bacardi-O, which is orange flavored rum. Had many.
im guessing it has something to do with slappy's O-Face.
i guess not... i heard taking red bull and booze was a bad deal.. seeing as red bull speeds up the system and boozes is a downer and slows the system down... but i like red bull and vodka so i dont know really...
You know I was never a believer that Red Bull and vodka was no different than drinking a rum and coke(both are sugar, caffiene, and alcohol).
Then I noticed Saturday afternoon my heart was pounding, and I was drinking Red Bulls all Friday night.
And speaking of "O-face," I made that a new toast when doing shots this weekend.
"Here's to showing her your O-face."
At first I thought the inconceivable had happened and Slappy had actually brought a woman to orgasm.
Love Chicago. Didn't live downtown, didn't spend enough time there, loved it when I did.
Definitely about the friendliest big city I've ever spent time in.
slappy lives by the rule... i got so you better get yours before i fall asleep....
slappy, not to bust in on the thread.. but have you looked in on the distrust thread in general?
Yea, and no offense to anyone, but I don't think it's that good, or funny, or whatever.

A classic!
Had dinner on prom night at the 95, the restaurant in the John Hancock.
Chicago is my home. The visuals cannot be beat. The lakefront is spectacular and gets better every time I go back. Sometimes I miss it terribly.
I've never been to Chicago - would like to go someday.
The last time I was in Chicago the temperatures were hovering in the high nineties. I took care of some business in the city, ate at a German restaurant, no, wait, the German restaurant was on the same trip, but I believe it was in Milwaukee, but anyway, I ate at this restaurant, then headed to the beach. Major mistake.
I have never seen so many friggin' people in my life. It's like everyone gets their assigned one foot square section of sand. It seemed hotter on the beach than in the city, so I jumped on my bike and headed out of town.
Less than forty five minutes away I found a town with a beautiful white sand beach and maybe 30 people on it. Spent the rest of the day there, commiserating with the locals about the heat and the terrible effect it must be having on their urban lifestyle, sipping cold beer, and soaking up the sun.
You think he'd notice? or care........
