Hello all,

I was wondering whether anyone could help me out with a particular sentence.

"However, in the first week of November 2004, the world watched events unfold just as they had done four years previous"

It shouldn't be 'previously' should it? Thank you very much!

There's another mistake here. "The world" is a singular noun. Linking it to "they" is wrong. This is the same kind of mistake as saying, "Everyone knew what was happening. They just didn't care." "They" is wrong.

Not quite Roberta. It can be optional and seems to depend on whether you are English or American.
