Heh.

More realistically, he has admitted to some experimentation with drugs in his memoir -- I forget which ones.

Anyway, cross that bridge when we come to it.

Too bad his name rhymes with Osama. The Republicans will use that against him.

Probably.

For your information, Obama means "one who is blessed by God" in Swahili.

He admitted to used cocaine and marijuana.

Has that really been much of a hindrance in Presidential politics lately?

The admitted part, yeah. (Did Bush ever admit to cocaine?)

If Kerry hadn't been such a tree, he would have gotten more support.

Right, Ticomaya. "Admitted." That's the point I was making -- I can't think of many politicians who have admitted drug use and have gone on to stellar careers.

Silver Lining:

1. Slightly more than half the people in the country are happier today than they would have been othewise. And I guess that's good.

2. With Bush at the helm, Jesus by his side, and a popular vote behind him, the US can convincingly wield the simple military strategy of, "You had better not mess with us cuz we're crazy and stupid". And it might actually work because it now appears to be true. And nobody wants to get into a fight with someone who's crazy and stupid.

Sheesh listen to your people. Now you know how the GOP supporters felt when Clinton won. . . twice.

As for the economy, I don't believe the futures were ever higher than they were this morning. The deficit looks high, but as a percentage of the GNP and budget it is actually low compared to many many other years, and the economy is growing, jobs are being created, and prospects look good. And because some kind of bust always follows a boom, you Dems can even look forward to a recession to use against the GOP when the next election rolls around.

9/11 changed everything. And I would surmise from the election results that a majority of Americans do approve of taking the war against terrorism to the terrorists instead of waiting at home for the terrorists to strike again and then punish/retaliate.'

What all this will mean in the next four years is anybody's guess, but I voted for my man because I believe his heart is in the right place and he will do no harm as much as possible. Nobody likes to lose, but I think the outcome will not be so bad as predicted.

I've never felt so depressed about the outcome of a presidential election -- or any election for that matter.

My only hope is that Georgie will pull it out. Here's his chance to fix his first 4 year screwups. Maybe he'll fire somebody.

If there is a silver lining it is well hidden. - Churchill on losing the 1945 election.

Like Lincoln said of the boy who stubbed his toe. I'm to big to cry, but it hurts to much not too.

Somewhere, someone has two words for George Bush:

grassy knoll

There's so much anger out there right now. Will he beef up his own personal security? Can he afford not to?

I know, BPB. I'm certainly not threatening anyone. No political situation is that important to me.
