One my friend collect old paintings and other antique. Recently she has discovered such text on a painting: "EVROE BACC" or "EVHOE BACC". Has anyone an idea what it can mean?

Many thanks.

words on painting
Laughing It's not much but to me it sounds like a persons name. I would guess one from the nations that go from Poland to the Greek border. I would guess it was Czech.

I'm not certain that it's a Latin phrase.

Could the painting have something to do with Bacchus?

Another reference with both words. Scroll down. Words are highlighted: "Bacchant" and "evhoe"

Yes, really it has. There is a group of Romans drinking in a room. This text is written on the floor in so way that it's left and right fragments are cut by the borders of the painting. So "Evhoe Bacchant" (glory to Bachus? - I guess) is a very suitable answer.

"Evoe" was the cry of jubilation at a Bacchanalia.
