Let's admit the obvious: Afghanistan War is unwinnable

Does anyone remember this? It was dated quickly because the Taliban collapsed almost immediately once we attacked. But it was pretty cool for a month or so.

Note: Should be safe for work (as long as the phrase "kick your ass" is OK), but the music is loud.

@oralloy,
I am not sure about the drones, but a few bases, perhaps if needed. It just seems like there is more of a need for troops elsewhere.

@hightor,
I thought this was an unmentionable.

For that matter, how many Arabs took part in 9-11. None at all, not a one.

@revelette1,
Why not admit the much more important issue - the invasion of Afghanistan was an illegal invasion, a war crime just like the war crimes that Germans and Japanese were hung for.

Why do so many of you support the equivalent of Hitler and the Nazis. The USA has committed far far more war crimes than the Nazis of Nazi Germany ever did.

The typical "humanitarian" type response of a USAer. The same type for the tens of millions murdered by the USA.

Good Germans USAers all

Wrong. International law gives us the right to defend ourselves when your terrorist buddies attack us.

False, as false as all the other myriad US illegal invasions.

Afghanistan: The Other Illegal War
The U.S. invasion of Afghanistan was every bit as illegal as the invasion of Iraq. Why, then, do so many Americans see it as justifiable?
By Marjorie Cohn / AlterNet July 31, 2008

...

The invasion of Afghanistan was not legitimate self-defense under article 51 of the charter because the attacks on Sept. 11 were criminal attacks, not "armed attacks" by another country. Afghanistan did not attack the United States. In fact, 15 of the 19 hijackers came from Saudi Arabia. Furthermore, there was not an imminent threat of an armed attack on the United States after Sept. 11, or Bush would not have waited three weeks before initiating his October 2001 bombing campaign. The necessity for self-defense must be "instant, overwhelming, leaving no choice of means, and no moment for deliberation." This classic principle of self-defense in international law has been affirmed by the Nuremberg Tribunal and the U.N. General Assembly.

@camlok,
It really bugs you that we killed your terrorist buddies, huh?

Well good. We're going to keep DroneStriking your terrorist buddies until we've gotten every last one of them.

Thermobaric warheads for the win!
