@patiodog,
Does he? Damn.

I've largely steered clear. Getting sucked back in to OSU drama but haven't watched a single NFL game this year. Scan Jets and Packers stats occasionally.

@sozobe,
(2 TD, 3 INT for Rodgers in loss, 6 TD, 1 INT for Favre in win...)

@patiodog,
Oooooof, I get queasy when I read that. Literally.

This is why I think it's a good thing that I've (temporarily at least) escaped the football vortex...

Packers: 'Too early' to gauge Rodgers' shoulder injury
Meanwhile Favre throws 70%, a career high 6 touchdowns, and earns a QB rating of 123.65 on the day (under a new system, and NOT with GB's receivers.)
Thanks Thompson, you friggin idiot.

OSU drama or Obama-Lama?

On an aside, the only good thing about today's games is that my favorite AFC team happens to be the Jets (since the times of Broadway Joe).

Just watched the highlights from the Jets/Cards game. Cards secondary was awful -- at least 4 of Favre's TD passes were to wide, wide, WIDE open receivers downfield.

If I'm the Cards free safety, I'm worried about getting replaced with a Make-A-Wish kid next week...

@patiodog,
...and the first of Rodger's picks was through the hands of his receiver, the last thrown as he was hit from the blind side by an unblocked blitzer, couldn't tell if it was OLB or CB. The 48-yard TD he threw after the shoulder separation was a beaut...

THAT's been going on for over two years now. Smile (Coming up on three...)

OSU drama, for those who don't know, is that OSU was beaten by USC (uh-oh) but then USC had their asses handed to them by Oregon State (who?). Meanwhile OSU won their game this week and might not be as pitiful as previously thought. Moving up in the rankings (#14 now I think).

@Region Philbis,
L.A., you think? Wondering who has the payroll to make him the highest paid pitcher, as he should be.

The Brewers need to focus on signing Prince Fielder. Braun is all sewn up. They can let anybody else go for all I care. I love J.J., but he'll be on the train with C.C. and Sheets. Won't miss sheets and his injuries.

@Gargamel,
Kendall's done a hell of a job. Never underestimate the value of a good catcher.

I was figuring on C.C. in LA. They've certainly got the money.

Frankly, though, I wouldn't be surprised to see him in pinstripes next year. The Yanks are going to be desparate to turn things around.

Thing is, I don't know that there's any reason to think that he's every going to be this good again. Orel Hershiser had a streak like this in his prime, and was never anything more than a very good (as opposed to great) major league pitcher before or after that. The Dodgers have been burned a lot on big-money free agent pitchers in recent years, and I could see them being a little gun shy. The Yankees will burn 40 million dollars just on a gamble...

@patiodog,
Sabathia is solid, but I don't think NY is a good fit for his head.

Physical tools unequaled right now, IMHO

Is it acceptable for me to participate in this discussion as a known Cubbie supporter?

Well, I'm such a poser of a Cheesehead that I didn't lament the departure of the Favre, so I don't think I can pass judgment on you.
