Unlike most of the peoples of Europe, the American people cannot be endlessly fucked with by their own government, and the advantage of that is obvious enough and does not require a PhD in history to understand. Most of the grief which has come to ordinary people within the last two centuries has come from their own governments.

In England at present, assuming news is to be believed, there are no firearms amongst the population for the control freaks to try to outlaw or ban, so that the effort has switched to trying to outlaw and ban knives. Again, Americans would never tolerate this, but the English people have no recourse, and could easily end up opening packages with their fingernails and eating kibbeled food from bowls on the floor like cats and dogs.

In Saudi Arabia flight searches dropped by 33% and in Bahrain by 37%, even though neither were included in Trump’s executive order.
