Hi, all...We've clicked!

pwayfarer...It's good to see you again! Hope you and your "things" are all well! Say hi to your new mouse for me... Smile

Stradee...
What a beautiful kitty Will was. He looked very happy, which I'm sure he was. He was a lucky kitty to have met up with you.

Has anybody heard from sumac yet? I do hope she's alright.

I read a post at another site that said anita b is very ill and has been hospitalized for the past couple of weeks. This information was passed on to a trusted poster from her son. There was no information given as to what type of illness she's suffering from, but there was an address given so that those who know her and who would like to send her a card at the hospital could do so. It gives her real name, so I don't know if I should post the address here, but if you would like me to do so, let me know, and I'll do it.

Or, maybe a safer way to do things would be if I were to give the address to ehBeth and have her e-mail it to you if you'd like to have it. Either way, please let me know, and if any of you hear anything re how she is doing, please let the rest of us know. She is such a dear person.

Thanks, Danon. Received it, and printed it for the boy. Loved the quip about an autographed copy of the Art of War -- heehee. He was wearing that patch, too, btw, when I handed him the copy.

I see you've got another new & handsome photo, eh?? Darn, you're gonna have the girls flying over here just to check you out!!!

Hi all, Another day - another clicks......

<<That didn't exactly come out right did it? But it did because clicks are plural each day....(G)>>

Piffka, I'm glad you liked the short note. Isn't it always the case though that everything we project when we associate with other people begins within ourselves.
LOL. The avatar for today is the "after" - - - - the other B/W pic was the "before"......... This one was taken last year during an outing over a mountain in Austria. It was a beautiful day and we had stopped for lunch at an Alpine Chalet. I tell ya, those people really know how to enjoy themselves..... The entire walk was about 20 miles - a lot of up and down - but, nothing really steep either way. When I approached the lunch area, others had already arrived, I began to sing "Beer here, beer here, oder ich fallum" - after the laughing subsided, one of the guys about my age handed me his flask of schnaps and I felt I had begun to fit in a little. The group, about 50, all knew each other but I only knew my friend who had invited me. Oh, the song sez - "give me a beer before I fall down" I'm not sure about the spelling. <G>

Hiking in the Austrian Alps with beer refreshments sounds great, Danon. I like that song! That photo shows your rugged, manly aspect with the petunias as a good contrast. Wink

Stradee -- that kitty was a beauty. I'm sure you are a good mistress to your "herd." Someday, when you've got time, I'd love to hear all about them.

Danon -- now I'll have that song running through my mind the rest of the evening. (I happen to know the strident melody). Spelling? It's Bier heer, Bier heer, the rest looks right.

Thanks Merry Andrew,
Always happy to do you a service!! I never figured it out - while singing the song everyone was always sitting down and rocking side to side with arms linked. No one I ever saw singing the song was in danger of falling down. lol

That's a Puntigamer Bier I'm having with one of my new found friends. Very Happy

Well, you lock arms to keep from falling down. If they didn't hold onto each other they'd probably be tumbling all over the place w/o Bier.

Piffka, thanks. They are all pretty adorable, and I've been doting on their faces more <if that's possible> since Will passed. There are four remaining ~ and the house sure seems empty. Three herd members in the past year have passed - Brady, Calli, and Will - and the remaining babies are Vastrada (14yrs) Amanda (13) Boots (10) and Bella (7yrs)
Cuties! Smile We all love our companion animals don't we? Truly enjoy reading stories the wildclickers have told about their "babies" also. We certainly have a great group of people here.

ehBeth, what a neat idea! Thanks! Hope Anita b posting again real soon.
Both she and sumac very nice people.

Hi, everyone...

EhBeth...
I sent you an e-mail a while ago with the info I have re anita b's hospital address and what I've found out about her situation. The flower idea sounds great. Can I/we help you pay for them?

Stradee...
From what I understand, quite a few people have been trying to get in touch with sumac and haven't been having any luck. Hopefully she's just gone out of town for a while and forgot to mention it to any of us. That happens sometimes. Just hope she's okay.

I've sent a note to the one person that I know who knows how to get in touch with Sumac IRL.

Matrix, I'll take care of these flowers - I can call someone in the city she's in to help get things arranged. Thanks for info, I've forwarded it to work, where I can do this on Monday a.m.

Thanks, Beth. For everything. I have an e-mail out to someone who keeps in close touch with Anita and if I'm able to find out anything else I'll let you know.

Re sumac, it seems to me that she posted somewhere not too long ago that a family member was not in the best of health so maybe she's needed to take some time to help out with that.

and now for something completely different

on my diary for tomorrow: a trip to Ikea to try and pick up two sheepskins for the doggies to sleep on. When they met piffka, she was travelling with her sheepskin, and they were mad for it (as well as piff). Ikea has the sheepskins on sale every year for 4 days in November. This year, I remembered which days they are! so let's cross all of our fingers and toes and eyes, and hope that Bailey and Cleo will get sheepskins for Christmas.

I've noticed that Bailey doesn't like it as cold at night as he used to, and will sometimes come up to share the heating pad I use to warm my toes when I first go to bed on cold nights.

and different again.

I'm listening to a marvellous radio documentary celebrating the 750th anniversary of the travels of Marco Polo. Listening to the CBC often makes me think of Anita, as we discovered we often listened to the same programs. I once went to a concert which following the travels of Marco Polo - I was amazed to discover that I really like the music of 13th century China. I recall posting about that at Abuzz. Who knew? 13th century Chinese music. It's grand.

How cool Beth!

At the shelter I learned of a product specifically for cat comfy called a "fluffy". Not animal skins, but a synthetic lambs wool. The same material also used for the larger kennel beds. Suggesting synthetic products <you can imagine how many loads of laundry done daily at the shelter> and after numerous w/d cycles, the material hold up really well compared to cotton or animal skin products.

I've tried everything to keep the herd warm during cold winter months, and the only success so far is a product called "Smart Blanket". The heat rises from underneath their favorite quilt or pillow, but the component distributes the heat either hi or lo <depending on the animals body temperature> so the herd sleeps comfy.

Do we "spoil" our babies? Nah... Smile

Oooh...

Cleo and Bailey will be very happy puppies if they get their wish for Christmas! Good luck in getting just the right ones tomorrow, ehBeth!

Our dog sleeps in one of these (his has a Teddy Bear print all over it - like the real Teddy Bears)
http://critterbeds.com/products_snuggle_bags.html from
http://critterbeds.com/
His is a medium size one that doesn't have one of the rod to keep the opening open - he'd hate that feature anyway! They're a must if you have a Min-Pin. They have a natural tendency to want to "burrow" into blankets and these are perfect. We leave it on the end of one of our couches he absolutely loves it. When it gets dirty, we just put it in the washer and toss it in the dryer and it looks new. The woman we got our dog from has several of the snuggle bags that her dogs use and even after many years of use they still look new.

The Clark's, the couple who owns this company, is thought of very highly by the AKC/Min-Pin community and have done an incredible amount of work taking in and finding homes for rescue dogs. They're really cool people. Very kind and very caring. I liked them a lot.

That radio program on Marco Polo sounds interesting...

Stradee...
My daughter and I went back and looked through some more of your kitty pictures tonight...Especially enjoyed the "wildlife" enjoying the free lunch on the porch! Laughing

The Marco Polo music sounds intersting. I heard a lot of that type music in Asia and liked most of it.

Sheep skins - they're gonna like that!

Looks like Boston is being snowed in too.......

Everyone stay warm and snuggy!!

All clicked.......
