Have you voted early?

I'm going to do so tomorrow. One thing that puzzles me: How does one vote a write-in candidate using the touch-screen computers?

I think when you vote early, you will be using a paper ballot.

That's what I got when I voted last week. (I voted early because I will be transporting people to the polls on election day.)

Ask the election judge.

I don't know. We might be using grade school slates.

I had to vote early and am not happy about it since they are being treated as absentee ballots. But I am due Nov 2nd with our son... I dont want to be in labor trying to vote *smiles

Edgar--

Ask the poll watchers. I'd never done a Write-In vote until last year and I just announced to the poll watcher (and the rest of the room, never miss a chance to be educational) that I had no idea how to do a write in vote.

She was delighted to help. Poll watchers spend a lot of time smiling and doing damn all else.

Angie I have always been an absentee ballot voter due to military service and a Florida resident. After the 2000 election I called my county and found that indeed 1,986 absentee ballots were never counted. I hate to believe mine was one of them, but I changed residency so I could vote in person this election, now I cant take the chance that I may actually go into labor and not be able to make it to the polls. If I dont vote I have no reason to complain about things I want changed Smile

I would be frustrated, too, if I thought my absentee vote might not have been counted.

I cannot believe Florida still hasn't got its act together.

There's no excuse for that.

This country is so bitterly divided at this time. Losing the election will be difficult enough for millions of caring Americans without having the added frustration of thinking there was pre-meditated, deliberate garbage going on beghind the scenes.

Kerry has to win without Florida. That's a tall order.

I did vote today. I don't trust a computer that leaves no trail in the event of malfunction, but it will probably be okay in Houston.

JustWonders, I voted a straight party ticket so was not presented with a page exactly like that. It may well be the same machine.

Smile I thought that one was cute. There's another I got as an email attachment (short, short movie) that's really hilarious, though.

Remember: Voting is a civic duty; hating the bastards you elected is just a perk.
