I can't think of a like word in English Joe.

Yeah, me neither. I even did a quick search in free translators on the net and nothing, that's why my desire to know (D2K) grew.

Although isn't a namesake someone who someone else is named after, not just someone with the same name. I don't think there's a translation.

Namesake, alright, but you don-t go around telling your friend (who happens to have your same given name): "Hi, namesake, how's your day?"

"Tocayo" has warmth into it.

I see fbaezer, when I looked the definition to verify it didn't seem like I could give the english word the same use as 'tocayo'. And that was precisely what I wanted it for. Oh well.

One of my favorite Argentine folk songs is difficult for me to translate for it has some misspellings and some slang that I don't recognize...can you translate it for me and Cavfancier?

I'd love to, I had to look up the argentinian words those are marked with (?). This is a very literate translation:

Carob tree, carob tree planting site
When the haverst bugs (?) sing
I feel like crying
Out of joy, my life (my life is referring to a person)
because the carnival arrives

With the moon's drum (assuming tarnbor is tambor)
