Clinton was open and honest about not supporting the war. Bush supported others going over and dying in his place.

I'm sure he has any number of useful tips to help today's youth avoid the draft. What's your favourite?

That's right. Elect John F'ing Kerry and our volunteer military will be a fond memory; nobody would volunteer to serve in a military under the control of somebody who hates it. They'll be drafting people all over the place.

Not true.
During clintons 8 years the enlistment rate went down as did the retention rate. Proof that they are not willing to serve under a moron.

further proof is that those same numbers reversed once President Bush took office. Proof that they know the difference.

Nice try, BCP...but nobody is gonna buy that Clinton was a moron.

You and I both know that the moron in question...is the blithering moron, George ADumbyaOL Bush.

But like I said...it was a nice try (albeit a bit desperate -- and a bit more than a bit forced!).

You forgot to mention the deficit also decreased.

It's all about money, to even insinuate the numbers went down because of Clinton's intelligence is disingenuous at best.

The rate of enlistment went up because of 911 and because we are at war, not because Bush is president.

The title of this thread is disingenuous, but that seems to have eluded many of you.

In May, retired Gen. William Turnipseed, the former commander of the Alabama Guard unit, said Bush did not report to him, although the young airman was required to do so. His orders, dated Sept. 15, 1972, said: "Lieutenant Bush should report to Lt. Col. William Turnipseed, DCO, to perform equivalent training."

"To my knowledge, he never showed up," Turnipseed said last month.

This one is so..... diabolically crafty, I'm suprised most US youth didn't try it.
