I thought this might be about my old Latin teacher. She taught us to sing well known songs in Latin. I still sing "Row Row Row Your Boat" in Latin.

She would give us extra credit for (attempting) to translate pop culture slogans and making posters for her classroom. I appreciated that because I did not do too well in her class and the extra credit helped.

I'm surprised at how much I use what I learned in that one semester though.

Sounds like a great teacher.
I'm amazed at some of the things I still remember from way back then.
But don't ask me where I left my mobile phone.

She was a good teacher. I wish I'd been smart enough to recognize it at the time.

I'm not often nostalgic about high school but I did recently dust off my copy of "Concerning Dissent and Civil Disobedience" given to me by my high school sociology teacher. He'd liked an essay I'd written and thought the book would be meaningful to me. He was right. He's still teaching me 40 years later.

Yay teachers!
