The guy writing this one is definitely left of center, although somehow still halfway rational. They must have run out of Kool-Ade before they got to him...

Funny seeing the word "tawdry" in anything from that particular site. Seems to be true that at least some of you Yanks don't do irony.

No. It is statistically insignificant. Most of Google's translating results are bullshit. For example:

At Trump Hotel in Washington, Champagne Toasts in an Ethical ‘Minefield’===>>> (Google Translator is simply like ****:)在華盛頓特朗普酒店，香檳敬酒在倫理'Minefield'

The perfect Chinese would have been: 華盛頓川普大酒店：道德“雷區 ”中的香檳慶賀

You were lucky in choosing that sentence. But the perfect form of it should be like this: 我敢打賭他的漢語無可挑剔。
