I play chess online at ChessWorld.net.
It's a form of chess called correspondence chess (generic name), although, more accurately these days, server-based chess. This is a turn-based system, where the time between moves can be minutes, hours, or days, depending on the setting used, and when your opponent is making moves.
The neat part about it is that you can very easily play games (I play 20 or so at a time) with different opponents from every country around the world, because the games are not completed in real time, like Over the Board chess (in-person) is.
I have played computer chess from time to time, but don't enjoy it so much. I find it hard to beat, although I have done so at the "easy level".
I have also played "live chess" (real time) on the internet, but find it stressful, especially as an older player. When you do this on the internet, you generally play others from closeby time zones only, for obvious reasons.
