Will the following information change anyone's habits, or will this go unheeded?

So>>>>>>When you're online, don't sit on a chair at your desk. Go lay down in your bed and be SURE to keep your legs elevated to avoid those nasty BLOOD CLOTS>

A health warning worth heeding! Who'd have ever thought there was a risk to sitting in front of a computer for 18 hours in a row. Must remember not to do that ever again... Idea

But it is not computer that kills: lack of motion seems more likely to be a cause of health problems. Therefore, a remedy is very simple: every 1-1.5 hours to get up from the chair and to do some physical exercise for 5-10 minutes to improve blood circulation.

steissd- You are absolutely right. Just think of the nursing home patients who lay in bed all day, and then develop clots or pneumonia from the lack of movement.

In addition to the possibility of developing clots, I find that when I am at the computer too long, I tend to develop edema in my legs, my eyes start to strain, and my "mouse wrist" starts to ache.

I think it is a matter of good sense. It is the same thing as when you are going on a long auto trip. You need to get out and stretch every once in awhile!

Perhaps A2K will have to have a lawyer on retainer, imagine the potential for lawsuits, (similar to those winding their way through the legal system against fast food franchises, etc.)

Personal Responsibility? Excuse me?

I believe you folks have us mistaken for some country where one IS responsible for one's own actions.

Well, Max, I'm sure there could be such lawsuits against A2K, but I don't think the corporate pockets are deep enough to make it worthwhile...

Speaking as a member of A2K staff and a lawyer (which doesn't make me the staff lawyer), the profits from last quarter were spent on dinner for Mr. Jespah and myself.

Funds stretched to an appetizer, two entrées, a soda for Mr. Jespah and tax and tip.

We're billionaire entrepreneurs!

Or, something like that. :-D

Man, and I thought that except for the threats of lab explosions, fire, extreme animal rights activists, and bioterrorism from within or without my job was pretty safe.

It would be a hell of a worker's comp claim.
