superjuly (or "lips" as i fondly call her) hasn't been around for a few months now...
You're right! Wonder how she is doing...
Hope Lord E makes it to Devon - it's south, albeit in a rather westerly way.
I'm back, refreshed, in spite of heat and humidity.
Welcome home - I see you seem to have had a fine time..
Welcome back, dear Noddy. You must tell us of your adventures in New York.
I love love love Noddy's New York attire.
Surprise! In August New York is hot and sticky!
Tuesday, Phoenix and Thomas and I did the Matisse & Fabric exhibition at the Metropolitan (as well as a good many other galleries). Contemplating the bleeding point Matisse established between objects and background is still occupying a great deal of my mind.
Also nagging my memory was the Sol LeWitt "Splotches, Whirls and Twirls" sculpture on the roof. I'm not sure that the Emperor wasn't skipping around the sculpture, but the view of NYC, with and without the shapes of primary colors in the foreground was wonderful.
Wednesday, I started to tackle the Rubin Museum devoted to art of the Himalayas. I loved the special exhibit devoted to Buddha's footprints as Pilgrimage Souvenir, but once again this provoked many trains of thought and I wasn't able to give the Female Buddha Gallery the attention that it deserved, let alone absorb the rest of the exhibits.
I did notice that some art afficondos are capable of inconspicuous meditation and others have mastered the intricacies of Meditation as Performance Art.
Thursday the temperature was in the 90's. I gawked through the GreenMarket and scholocky souvenir stands at Union Square and they retreated to what I hope was inconspicuous meditation in air conditioned splendor.
I'm looking forward to another trip in the cool-cool-cool of October.
anybody heard from odd socks, she's a sporadic poster at best but seems to have been more absent than usual
Well, I just wanted to let folks know that BoGoWo has been having what he refers to as website terrorism. Thanks to dear Beth and Buttercup, we now know that he is alive and living STILL in Toronto.
Anyone seen colorbook lately?
What happened to fealola? When I joined she was posting all the time...
I don't know, Clary, I've missed her too. She came back, I think for one post, quite a while ago now, and said something about being busy. I would have tried to meet her when I went to LA a month or so ago, if I'd had her email...
Piffka comes and goes, like cats...
Cats, no less liquid than their shadows
Offer no angles to the wind.
They slip, diminished, neat, through loopholes
Less than themselves, will not be pinned
To rules and routes for journeys....
Saff...hehe....a flash in the pan?
mmmmm the Australian library woman
