I thought about CI today.

He would wax lyrical about a pub in Fleet Street called Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese.

I was in the vicinity and thought I'd visit.

It was shut. They'd had some minor disaster to deal with.

There is a plaque outside listing all the monarchs it had seen starting with James I.

Now Charles is up there too.

I did peer in, but it didn't look much different from a lot of old London pubs, and there are a few.

CI has been silent on Facebook for about a month. When I start worrying for him I challenge him to a game or something. He comes back and plays or posts most of the time.

Only a very small portion of the pub that is above ground. And at least four levels "downstairs".
When we had a meeting (with CI) there, we were at the lowest, I think.

It does look very tiny from the outside.

I've looked at some online pictures, it does look very nice.

There are lovely old pubs in all our big cities.

In Southampton we've got the Red Lion which is a scene in Henry V.

Admittedly, it's not as nice as the Cheshire Cheese, but it's not that far off.

CI apparently loses his log in info on Facebook and simply opens new accounts instead of straightening it out. I have him on my friends list under six accounts, Edit [Moderator]: Real name removed. But the last active of these has been disabled. So I just have to wait to see if he returns.

Here's a puzzler. Paris has not posted here or on Facebook for years that I can tell. When I post Happy Birthday to him he never responds. I have a private group about writing on Facebook and I just discovered he has been reading some of my posts there. It's a relief to know he is okay.
