Blatham would flinch if he knew I was wondering, but has anybody heard from him and Lola? Neither have posted in at least a couple of months.

I talked to Blatham on the phone a month ago. He said he and Lola were both fine, and both very busy with real life in Portland. I miss them here, too.

Thanks Thomas. As I said, I think he would prefer I didn't care, but for me he is sort of like the drunken uncle that you hate to see show up but that you worry about if he doesn't. Smile

I dispute that! You've been missing since 12.20pm on Friday 23rd May, and we've been looking for you ever since. Welcome back. Smile

Indeed. (I nearly even drove to the Laan van Meerdervoort because it's no streetview of that @google!)

We just thought it would be irresponsible to disturb a PhD candidate in the terminal stage of writing her thesis. These candidates are fragile creatures.

aw, sorry to have doubted you, good people. I didn't really, I just never know where to start posting after missing in action for a few weeks. The board has moved on and it feels like a river too fast to step in. This thread is the quiet pool on the side.

Rolling Eyes oh boy, i'm poetizing, must be having a heat stroke.

Yes welcome back Dag. And never fear launching your boat on the river. Most of us forget what we posted after a day or two anyway so it's all new and all good.

Anyone heard from Swimpy? 20,000 people have left their homes because of the raging Cedar Rapids.

Anyone heard from jodie34?

She's been gone about 9 days now, and I'm starting to get worried.

News from Dubuque isn't as bad as some Iowa river cities, but it doesn't look real good either. From Weather Underground:

Statement as of 5:41 AM CDT on June 14, 2008

... Flood Warning remains in effect until further notice...

The Flood Warning continues for
the Mississippi River at Dubuque.
* Until further notice.
* At 4:30 am Saturday the stage was 20.2 feet... and falling.
* Moderate flooding is occurring.
* Flood stage is 17 feet.
* Forecast... fall to 20.0 feet Sunday morning.
* Impact... at 20 feet... water reaches the base of the flood wall at
the Ice Harbor. Most of the houses on the river side of the East
Dubuque levee are in water.

I fell for it too huh. Sigh. I'm just not as quick on the uptake as I used to be. Smile
