It is, indeed, remarkable that we miss and worry about those who suddenly disappear from cyber land who we would not know if we passed them on the street..... but we do.

That may or may not be true, Intrepid .... who knows?

But in the case of Sturgis ... well, he was fighting a very serious (life threatening) condition, the last time we heard from him. So it's not surprising that some of us are becoming alarmed by his extended absence.

I really miss him & worry if he's OK. Sad

That is exactly what I meant. Even people we have not met we care and worry about.

I was at his Christmas party. Not sure if that qualifies as "recent" for you. He's fine, he just dropped out of A2K.

without naming names, are there some people you wouldn't miss? i'd have to say yes, myself, although i'm having a hard time remembering who they might be. Confused

It's a short list ... but yes.

more that I wouldn't notice perhaps than those I wouldn't miss.

I'm reminded of some of Phoenix's occasional threads looking for what's missing.... Sometimes what's missing are those who are no longer here.

Think about Frank Burns (from M.A.S.H.)

Every group, company, circle has at least one designated Frank B. If Frank takes a hit (or quits, or retires, or leaves) then a new Frank (sometimes plural) is designated to be the recipient of the fallout from the rest. Such is the nature of the world according to JPB

..msOlga, I'm still looking for Sturgis' phone number. I can't believe that I was organized enough to throw away the little book with the New York #'s.

Here's hoping you find it, EhBeth.
Fingers crossed.
Does anyone else have any ideas about how we could try to locate him?

Keep practising - your aim will improve! You'll gradually miss him by less and less, and one day! Bull's eye! Or maybe, Frank's eye! Twisted Evil

So I've joined my first fantasy baseball league, and it appears that this is going to take over my life. How sad and pathetic. Next thing you know I'll be wearing sweatpants in public, with a belt.

All this to say that I may have less time to stopy by and make an obvious intermediate school-level joke or rail against some Republican without actually espousing a political belief of my own.

Buy maybe not.

Anyways, peace.

Gargamel,

Above all, this will be a huge disappointment for Gus. You know that he worships you and is always following you around.

Gargamel,

You should have joined the A2K Fantasy Baseball League .... then you could waste huge amounts of time with fantasy baseball, and still stop by here to chat.
