Albuquerque Internatiional Balloon Fiesta's flight of the nations:

The flight of hundreds of baloons was delayed for three days while we had thunder, lightening, rain, 1-inch size hail, and high winds.
The balloons fly directly over my house. Maddy just sits on the patio and stares at the sky, listening to the "whosh, whosh" of the balloon's gas burners.

Balloon his radio tower
Did you all see the picture on TV of the Smokey the Bear balloon that hit a 670 feet high radio tower antennae? Two boys, 8 and 12, and the 69 year old pilot managed to get the gondola next to the tower and get out of the basket on to the tower. The radio station quickly shut off the power. It took them a long time to climb down the tower. The pilot had a rough time because of his age. The rescuers plucked them off the tower in a cherry-picker so they wouldn't be electrocuted when they touched the ground. Very scary. They are all safe, but the balloon was shredded.
It was fun to see the sky filled with beautiful balloons. The wind was blowing away from my house so I didn't have as many balloons directly overhead as I did last year on the final day of the fiesta.
