WASHINGTON (AP) -- A top federal health official, lamenting "a very fragile vaccine production system," urged healthy people Wednesday to defer getting their influenza shots so medication will be available for those most at risk.

never had one since you can still get sick after you've had the shot. It is "just not as severe". Whatever. I'll take my chances.
I might get sick once a year. I figure if I do get the flu it's better for my immune system. Don't get the kids vacinated either for the same reason. If it was for West Nile or something deadly of course, we would all be lined up, but not for the flu.
The flu is much more deadly than West Nile, FYI. West Nile is probably more prevalent than anyone wants to believe.
I'm just on the borderline between fit and frail. Mr. Noddy definitely needs a shot--chronic invalid.

Nope. None for me either. The last time Mr. Letty took one, it was the sickest that I have ever seen him. Some folks just don't tolerate stuff like that too well.
I did get a bit apprehensive when I got bitten by something when I was trying to clean up a bit after hurricane Jeanne, but I don't think it was the flu bug. Wow! Look at all the ways one may use "bit".
None for me, I've never had a flu shot without getting sick and I've had plenty of non-sick winters without getting a shot. Besides, I'm healthy and I'll be doing the frail people a favor by not getting one.
I plan to get my flu shot even if I have to knock over the old ladies to do it! :wink:

I have a feeling dlowan was spewing over my post, not the needle. Dlowan, you said before Oz was all set with flu vaccinations. Since you are now leaving flu season and heading into spring, don't you think it would be reasonable to donate any surplus to the U.S.?
