Could anyone translate the following into Latin:

"Do as you would be done by"?

Many thanks for the first stab at the translation as well as the web reference - I'll check it out furth and confirm before proceeding. It's nice to have a starting point.

Some of the translations on the web are weird, as with Latin there are a lot of metaphors used, and translation isn't as easy as it looks, as I'm sure you know!

I'm quickly realising that no languages are set in stone! I guess this makes it 'interesting' (or frustrating?).

The Intertran translation is gibberish. George's translation is much better (but I would substitute "alii" ("another") for his "alteri" (= "the other (of two) "). I also will see if I can find an equivalent actually attested in a Latin text (assuming George's isn't one).
