My animal collection has diminished greatly over the last 10 years. Right now I only have 5 cats and 2 aquatic turtles. Ok, ok...I have to share their names and something about them too!

Elvira is my ebony beauty. A jet black Bombay with fur that nearly glistens. She is the matriarch, the alpha cat. She rules over the others, never with fighting, hissing or even growling, but just by a look and they all back down.

Duncan and Daphne are brother and sister British Red Tabbies. They ar my special needs kitties. Duncan is very, very simple and to look at him you could easily see that if he were human, he would be considered a Down's Syndrome baby. Daphne is very eccentric, borderline dual personalities, hates all the other cats and wants to badly to be the one in charge. She's like Jekyll and Hyde mostly.

Bob is my only outdoor cat and he came to us when one of our neighbors just took off and moved out from under him. I hate when people do that!
He is a rugged buff colored polydactyl (on all 4 paws no less) He keeps the racoons and the opossums away no problem!

Widget (short for Wild Midget) is the baby of the bunch. She's a Calico and does not know a stranger. She loves everyone, people and the other cats. She's wonderfully social but I think she adores Elvira the most.

The Turtles, one is a Red Eared Slider and the other is a Yellow Belly Cooter, i've had since they were about 50 cent piece size. They are Turt and Nemo and Turt is now about 9-10 inches long and Nemo is about 6 inches long. They spend their days swimming and basking in a huge
aquarium. Widget finds them quite fascinating!

I no longer have the two black labs, Nigel and Senna, the two cockatiels, BooBoo and Little Bird nor the multitude of reptiles (all snakes) who at one count exceeded 40 including a few desert rattlers. In fact, I still have the bastid baby rattler that bit both Duncan and Daphne at one point....he sits coiled up in a container in my freezer. Razz

My babies!!!
I know, I know... my babies? That sounds so gay!

My dog, Gunny, is a doberman. He's the biggest baby in the world, and he likes to bring me random objects on the floor to get praised. Stuffed animals constantly move from room to room!

I have two cats, The Ghost and The Darkness. Ghost is white, and is evil incarnate. Dark is black, and is trying to be evil incarnate (long way to go, he's too snuggly to be evil). We want to get another cat and call them Tsavo, but two cats poop enough!

We also have a Bubblegum-Snow Corn Snake named The Don, or Donny! I never liked snakes before, but he's a 6 foot long sweety. He'll do anything for a little body-heat!

We also have a Dutch Rabbit, named Attilla the Bunny-Hun, Tilly for short. She scared off our dog the first day we had her, that explains the name. A 2 ounce rabbit scaring an 80 pound dog! You should've seen Gunny jump! Anyway, she likes to get bathed by Ghost, and she and Dark play chase.

We have an Oscar, named Oscar De La Renta-Hoya, but he's sick. I'd be surprized if he survives the night, poor Oscy....

Well, thats all!

We have 2 cats:
Olivia - light grey tabby and mother to
Mr. T - black long hair with green eyes

2 resident dogs:
Newt - yellow lab
Backdraft - dalmation

One rescue mutt that we're fostering with her just born 9 puppies. Her name is Precious and she truly is.

Angelicani,
I loved the pics of your dogs. They are adorable. Please reconsider getting a monkey. They don't do well as pets. Please read this.

Also, sugar gliders do best in pairs. You might find this helpful.

That beak can draw blood ...and keeps the cats out of his "space".

Mike got a boo-boo yesterday when he flew into the sliding door of the sun room. Cats looked at him and said "F**kin' meowwww"

Ours is a Heinz 57 though, with some shitz tzu in it.
We got him from a rescue center - the sweetest dog when
you're around, the minute you leave him alone, he
turns over his food and water bowl, jumps the kitchen table
and scratches, tears the tableclothes off and everything
else what's on it. <sigh>

How do I get him to stop that? Any ideas?

I took care of a friend's parrot for many months while he was travelling. (African Grey). Very intelligent bird. Could mimic my voice exactly! Very impressive.

He tricked me, once, into thinking he was going to be friendly towards me, and stepped onto my offered fist. Once there, he proceeded to bite the everloving sh!t out of my thumb. I swear he hit bone.

He was attentive and friendly towards my wife, but disliked me for some reason. No matter what I did, he never liked me. I understand parrots are often like that .. having a favorite person in the household, and being jealous of the other.

I have 2 dogs, 1 cat, and a Cockatiel.

(Not a picture of my bird, but she looks just like that.)

Neat! Does a cockatiel sing?

You're right about parrots...they're too human sometimes. Mike's infatuated with Mama and when she comes home he screams til she rubs his head.
He likes the 12 year old even though he's pretty rough with the bird.
He tolerates me...sometimes he'll raise his wing if he wants a water spritzer to clean up with.

She doesn't sing ... she chirps a lot though. She's very sweet, and loves to have the back of her neck rubbed. She also loves to take a shower with me. She's 17 years old, which is about the average life span of a cockatiel.
